Courtyard, Dariush Zandi
Once a quiet fixture at New York’s beloved Maman’s Café, the bench was discovered in its final days—resting on the sidewalk with a handwritten note: “Free to take.” We shipped it to Dubai, unaware of the story it carried. In a twist of fate, one of our tenants turned out to be the original owner of Maman’s Café—a beautiful reminder that some pieces find their way home, even oceans away.
Kimberly Heron Fountains
Originally belonging to Petals, one of the fountains was installed at the entrance of the gallery, while the other was gifted on the evening of Dariush Zandi and Shaqayeq Arabi’s wedding.
The Red Table
The surface of this table was once a fire exit door at for Art of Guitar, a beloved space within the Courtyard. When the store underwent renovation, we gave the door a new life. What once offered a way out now gathers people around it.
Wind Chimes
Many of these chimes were gathered on quiet walks through Woodstock, New York—each one a small echo of the town’s spirit. Crafted from clay and hand-shaped ceramic, they carry the gentle music of memory and the artistry of human hands.
The Tricycle
This tricycle was discovered at a secondhand auction in England by a close friend, Grace Yacoub. Years later, knowing its story was far from over, they passed it on to us—believing it would find its rightful place here at the Courtyard, where forgotten treasures are given new life.
The Moon
Suspended from the ceiling of the Courtyard, this glowing, sphere is more than just a light—it is a quiet memento from a night in Ramadan, when the Courtyard hosted an event organized by Stella McCartney. Its soft glow still holds the memory of that evening.
The Boat
This piece was the centerpiece of Departure, an immersive installation by Japanese artist, Chiharu Shiota, at Jameel Arts Centre in 2018.
​In the Spirit of safeguarding the same values, it was passed on to us, and has found its new home at The Courtyard, carrying forward the spirit of connection and reflection.
Victorian Style Cast Iron Garden Urns
Handcrafted in the early 2000's, these planters carry the legacy of one of Dubai's earliest champions of design. As the Courtyard's original tenants, Petal's infused the space with creativity. These planters remain as quite witnesses to that ongoing story.
The Love Seat
This unique piece, referred to as a Conversation Chair is a twin facing chair. It allows people to sit comfortably while turning slightly to engage in conversation.
