Iyad Almosawi, was born in Ste-Maria, Iraq.
He lived in Canada for 10 years where he studied Art and there after moved to Dubai for 5 years. He is presently based in Toronto, Canada.
Iyad's work has a fresh look, but its roots can be traced back to the Arab heritage. Arab traditions have greatly inspired Iyad's creative expression.
He demonstrates a deep awareness of the strong aura of all the elements he uses in his paintings.
He uses the method of reshaping memories and reality and produces a visual mixture, which provides the viewer with a concept of colors in motion, turning into spontaneous shapes. His work is full of energy and this is clearly reflected in the colors he uses and the balance he achieves.
The works of Iyad Almosawi can be seen at the Art bank and the Museum of Modern Art in Ottawa, Canada. They can also be seen in many international companies and institutions.
In 1996, three of Iyad's paintings were used in a worldwide advertisement for Mercedes Benz to launch their new cars.
Iyad has exhibited at Total Arts Gallery in 1996 in the Deira city center and 2000 at Total Arts gallery at the Courtyard.
